Governors, Mayors, City Managers, and Agency Heads – As of September 4, 2014, reports of First Responders Killed in the Line of Duty are: 70 Police Officers, 58 Firefighters, 7 EMS, 10 Towers, and unknown number of Safety Service Patrol personnel. I ask what have you done this year to make your agency safer? How many injuries, deaths, and lost days at work has your agency had in 2014? How many workers had to retire or leave their job due to an injury? Does your agency meet OSHA and your industrial safety standards? How many safety topics were on the agenda at your agency staff meeting this year? Does your agency have safe buildings and equipment to operate? Does your agency follow National Best Safety Practices?
